Nagham and Fadi Abed lost everything during the conflict in the Gaza Strip, now survive with a business specializing in Palestinian food
After months of fighting, bombing, displacement and forced famine by Israel, 18 members of the Abed family arrived in Mexico from Gaza in May. They are the first refugees to arrive in the country from that region of the Middle East in two years.
Nagham and Fadi saw their walnut business destroyed during a shelling by Israeli forces. After several complicated bureaucratic procedures, they managed to settle in Mexico. To support themselves, they work by selling traditional Palestinian food that they prepare at home.
