This is a special match especially for Harry Kane. The long-time Tottenham Hotspur striker enjoyed playing city derbies in north London and will return to his homeland.
FC Bayern and Arsenal, like Inter Milan, have won all four of their league games so far this first-class season. Victory in the direct duel means a big step towards qualifying directly for the round of 16. Both teams are currently considered the strongest in Europe.
However, the other two offensive players weren’t there – for different reasons. While Jamal Musala is still absent from the squad due to injury, Luis Díaz is not allowed to play. The Colombian was unable to take part due to his red card suspension during the match against Paris Saint-Germain. Díaz has been suspended for three first-class matches.
When Bayern meets Arsenal, Munich always wins
In recent duels, the London team, which has not conceded a single goal in this Champions League season, has often fallen behind. The last success against Munich was a long time ago: in October 2015, the Gunners won 2-0 at home in the group stage. Since then, the two teams have met five more times – and FC Bayern won four of those duels, with a goal difference of over 18:4.
The last meeting so far took place in the quarter-finals of the Champions League for the 2023/24 season. After a 2-2 draw in London, FC Bayern won the second leg 1-0 at their own stadium and secured a ticket to the semifinals. Midfield boss Joshua Kimmich scored the decisive goal.
