The Council of State confirmed this Monday, November 10, the automatic resignation of Marine Le Pen from her mandate as member of the department’s council.
In his decision, the administrative judge dismissed the constitutionality priority question (QPC) raised during the appeal against the prefecture’s decision, announced his automatic resignation, and explained that “The Constitutional Council has declared similar provisions applying to city council members to be constitutional.”
On March 31, Marine Le Pen was sentenced to five years ineligible with immediate execution for “embezzlement of public funds” and “complicity in the embezzlement of public funds”.
