The UN General Assembly adopted by consensus a resolution introduced by Italy in which member states renewed their support for an Olympic ceasefire during the Olympic and Paralympic Games. «On behalf of Italy, I present a draft resolution to build a better and more peaceful world through sport and the Olympic ideal. At a time of increasing strife and conflict, sport and the Olympics can be a beacon of hope. An alternative to competition and division”, said Milano-Cortina 2026 Foundation president Giovanni Malagò.
