The UN Security Council, on Monday, with 13 votes in favor and two abstentions (China and Russia), approved an American resolution specifically providing for the establishment of an international force in the Gaza Strip. An outright vote was rejected by Hamas which deemed the text “does not meet the demands” of the Palestinians.
