The National Police officer who attempted to foil a robbery in Vinalesa (Valencia) on November 8 last year died in the hospital where he was hospitalized, as confirmed by Guardia Civil sources.

The agent, 41 years old and resident of Vinalesa, was found unconscious in the municipality’s Plaza de España by a neighbor with a serious head injury, after having been hit with a stone when he met two people who were allegedly on their way to steal sporting pigeons.

The Guardia Civil arrested a 21-year-old young man and a 15-year-old minor for attacking and seriously injuring the officer, who was off duty when the events occurred and remained in a coma following the attack, until his death this Tuesday.

The Paterna court granted provisional prison, communicated and without bail, for the 21-year-old prisoner, investigated in an open case for attempted murder/aggravated injuries, while the minor was released without precautionary measures by decision of the Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office, since he did not intervene in the attack.
