From November 18, consumers can request an equipment bonus that provides a discount of 100 euros (up to 200 euros for those with an ISEE of less than 25,000 euros) on the purchase of new, highly energy-efficient equipment by discarding old equipment. But how much can you save on your electricity bill by replacing appliances? To answer this question, Facile.it analyzed the consumption of the main household appliances in our homes. This is what emerged.
How much do you save
To calculate the benefits of electricity bills, Facile.it takes into account the average family consumption (2,700 kWh per year) and the energy tariff of 0.31 euros per kWh. Savings are calculated by comparing the consumption of household appliances with the highest energy label and those with the lowest energy label.
Refrigerator with freezer: this tool is one of the most energy-intensive; therefore, it is a good idea to pay attention to consumption. Taking into account a 350 liter refrigerator in energy class F, the savings that can be achieved by switching to a more modern model in class A amount to 64 euros per year, i.e. 67% less.
electric oven: for a 70 liter class B oven, taking into account 220 cooking cycles per year, you end up spending up to 76 euros on electricity bills; for the same use, switching to a class A+++ model allows you to reduce costs by 66%, with savings of around 50 euros.
Washing machine: for each washing cycle, taking into account a 9kg F class model, approximately 0.97 kWh/cycle is used which means 55 euros per year with use every other day. If we replace the old washing machine with a new class A washing machine, we can reduce the bill by almost 49%.
Dryer: the savings that can be achieved by replacing the dryer are greater; an old class B model weighing 9 KG, used for 160 washes a year, costs around 191 euros. Moving to class A+++ means reducing costs by 68%, with annual savings of more than 130 euros.
Dishwasher: using it every two days, the Class E dishwasher (13 place settings) consumes about 172 kWh per year, with a bill of up to 53 euros; switching to a class A model reduces expenses by 43% per year.
How to get it
Therefore, this Bonus is an interesting opportunity for Italian consumers. But what must be done to be able to use it? Applicants must first submit a request on the online portal managed by Invitalia and PagoPa. Once you verify that you meet the requirements, the platform will issue an alphanumeric code with the maximum amount that can be spent on new installed equipment. After the purchase is complete, the discount will be immediately applied to the invoice issued by the seller.
The bonus value varies based on income and covers up to 30% of the equipment purchase cost. The maximum expected contribution is 100 euros for each product purchased. This amount increases to 200 euros for families showing a valid ISEE of less than 25,000 euros. This bonus only applies to products made in Europe and to be able to take advantage of it, equipment of a lower energy class and the same category must be disposed of with a new one purchased.
