Fierce clashes between Il Tempo journalist Giulia Sorrentino and Magliana Roma mosque imam Sami Salem during the “Dritto e Rovescio” program hosted by Paolo Del Debbio on Rete4. Imams who do not want to admit the irregularities of more than 1000 places of worship in Italy were converted into mosques and irregularly used as places of prayer, which is against Italian law. The problem, Sorrentino said, also concerns the content of his sermons: “Most imams preach in Arabic, because their sermons are not delivered in Italian, but now thanks to this government the sermons will be delivered in Italian, because we need to know what is said in certain places of worship.”
“The mosque cannot be built where you want because you have decided that a place of worship must be built in that place.
The treaty with the Italian State must be signed and Italian law must be respected!”Giulia Sorrentino a #front and back hands pic.twitter.com/W2tGyfOT3e

This is because “there was also talk of flogging, of women’s behavior in total submission, there was talk of subversion and subjugation of the West, and I heard it with my own ears”. The league and the government have actually asked for approval of a law that would clearly regulate every aspect of life at the cultural center. Because Islam did not sign a treaty with the Italian State: therefore, they did not sign the division of our constitutional norms and principles.
