Died suddenly and unexpectedly
Jan Zimmermann has delighted around two million people over the years with her videos about life with Tourette’s. Out of nowhere the news came to his fans, friends and family that he died on November 18 at the age of only 27 years. Now his relatives have revealed details about the cause of his death.
“He gave people courage (…)”
Jan’s friend Tim Lehmann addressed his fans in a post on Instagram on Monday evening. “The pain within us cannot be expressed in words, but we would like to thank you for your sympathy.”he wrote. He currently felt in no position to say more about it. But he announced that the 27-year-old man died of an epileptic seizure.

His closeness to the star of “Gewitter im Kopf” is not only visible from his dialogue, but also the fans, who are apparently always given hope by Jan, must also feel it. “He gave courage to people who had never met him in person and showed them that you can live life lovingly and openly even on difficult days,” he continued on Instagram.

Jan and his friend Tim regularly provide insight into the daily lives of sufferers of the disease on YouTube along with Gisela, who Jan calls Tourette’s syndrome. They accompany the Bundeswehr, practice as medical personnel or even intern at RTL. No matter the challenge, fun is always Jan’s top priority. “His humor, honesty and big heart were gifts he shared with everyone”wrote Tim Lehmann on Instagram and at the end he turned to his best friend one last time: “Forever loved, forever unforgettable, we will let you go, but never let go.” (pba)
