That ADAC warns of significant danger caused by incorrectly parked trucks on Saxony’s motorways. In a study of 100 rest areas across the country, trucks were parked in high-risk areas such as entrances and exits or on the shoulder of the road at nearly half of the locations, the association reported. The impact was very serious in Saxony. More than 50 trucks were parked incorrectly in two service areas: 54 illegally parked vehicles were counted in the Dresdner Tor Süd service area on the A4, and a total of 61 in the Muldental Süd service area on the A14.

It is clear that the rest areas in the Leipzig-Dresden-Chemnitz triangle are very congested, according to ADAC.

ADAC: Speeds up expansion and uses space more efficiently

According to information, there are no signs throughout Germany Highway There are still around 20,000 truck parking spaces available. According to ADAC, this figure roughly corresponds to the analysis five years ago. The association is calling for road rest areas to be expanded more quickly and for existing areas to be used more efficiently. To achieve this goal, greater emphasis must be placed on digital information and reservation solutions, he said.
