For nearly four years, Ukraine has defended itself against Russia’s war of aggression with the help of the West. US President Donald Trump said he couldn’t thank her enough for her support.

US President Donald Trump once again accused Ukraine of ingratitude and blamed Europe for the continuation of Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine. “Ukrainian “leadership” shows no gratitude for our efforts, and Europe continues to buy oil from Russia,” he wrote in all caps on his online channel, Truth Social.

Trump has claimed in the past that Ukraine does not recognize enough support from the United States. He accused Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky of ingratitude at a White House meeting in February. In front of the cameras, Trump and his deputy JD Vance rebuked the Ukrainian head of state. The conversation ended in an unprecedented scandal.

In contrast, Trump has repeatedly accused the European Union of continuing to finance the war indirectly by continuing to buy oil from Russia. As a result of Moscow’s war of aggression, the EU issued a massive import ban on Russian energy sources such as coal and oil, but exceptions remain in effect.

According to Ukrainian information, talks on a US peace plan to end Russia’s war of aggression were underway in Geneva on Sunday. Trump has given Selenskyj a deadline of Thursday to approve the plan in principle. Ukrainian supporters reject the plan in its current form. Zelenskyj wanted to offer an alternative suggestion. The 28-point document demands major concessions, especially from Ukraine.
