Americans are worried about high food prices

The US government’s steps follow the progress of the Democratic Party
The move follows a series of Democratic wins in state and local elections where the cost of living has been a key issue. Senior Democratic Representative Richard Neal said the Trump administration was trying to “put out a fire of its own making and sell it as progress.” The administration has finally publicly admitted that Trump’s trade war has raised people’s costs of living.
Trump recently emphasized that the price increases were triggered by the policies of his predecessor Joe Biden.

Trump’s aggressive tariff policy
Trump implemented an aggressive tariff policy. After starting his second term in January, he imposed additional import tariffs on many countries, some of them very high. The US government accused these countries of taking advantage of years of imbalance in customs regulations to the detriment of the US.
In recent months, many countries have renegotiated with the Trump administration and finalized trade agreements, which the Republican considers his personal success. However, many economic experts emphasize that basically there are only parties who are harmed by such radical tariff policies. In the US, it is normal citizens who suffer the most from these policies, because they pay for these policies in higher consumer prices.
