Hundreds of people demonstrated on Thursday in Gabès, Tunisia, in front of a court that is examining a complaint demanding the closure of a polluting unit at a chemical complex, thought to be responsible for dozens of poisonings since early September. One protester said he hoped “the courts will give us justice by ending an environmental crime that has gone on for more than 50 years.”
