Following the deaths of three tourists in Türkiye who had traveled from Germany for unknown reasons, the hotel in Istanbul where the family was staying was evacuated. All the guests were taken to other hotels, the newspaper reported Birgun. It was initially unclear how many tourists were affected. Previously, two other hotel guests experienced the same symptoms as the sick family. They were rushed to hospital because of nausea and vomiting. According to the Anadolu news agency, their lives were not in danger.
The investigation into the cause of death of the mother and two children is still ongoing. Pending laboratory results will provide more detailed information. Suspicions initially focused on possible food poisoning. According to Anadolu, investigators are now taking samples of drinking water at the hotel and evaluating surveillance cameras. Three more arrests
A hotel employee and two pest controllers were arrested. There have now been a total of seven arrests in connection with the deaths. Four suspects selling food were arrested on Friday.
