Two men break into the Alpine F1 venue in Essonne… but for what purpose?

At the Alpine Formula 1 team site in Viry-Chatillon (Essonne), the peaceful bridge of November 11 was somewhat disturbed by a strange intrusion into the company premises.

According to police sources, Monday evening, at around 10 p.m., two people broke a window at the entrance to gain access to the building lobby. Once inside, the two intruders did not linger on the ground floor and headed to the top floor where the offices of the executives and management of the Alpine F1 team were located.

Several office doors were reportedly damaged. The premises were clearly visited and ransacked by intruders, who apparently knew their way around the site of this emblematic structure of French motorsport.

According to the information we have obtained, the two people entered the location through the side of the building, along the A6 motorway and emerged shortly afterwards. “Maybe five minutes,” we were told.

“Nothing was stolen”

A surprising fact: at the time of the police intervention and first discovery, no material damage had occurred. Despite break-ins and visits to several offices, no objects, documents or materials were stolen.

“Nothing was stolen. Everything is fine. There were no employees at the time,” a source at the F1 team told us. “There was no theft,” said a source familiar with the incident, Wednesday afternoon.

Now it’s time for the investigation. According to the same source, the matter was entrusted to the Territorial Crimes Division (DCT). Technical and scientific police went to the location to make observations, trying to identify what exactly the two people were looking for in the company.

Once theft is ruled out, all other means will be investigated, including industrial espionage.

So far, no arrests have been made.
