“We will be ready in January, according to plan! » smiles Tristan Colombet, founder and manager of PIC, a giant innovation and cooperation center under construction in Clermont-Ferrand (Puy-de-Dôme), on the former Michelin site in the city center. A few weeks before the opening, the site is “on schedule” and a safety commission is scheduled for mid-January. Support for this huge project worth 64 million euros, was launched at full speed four years ago.

PIC will offer 2,400 workstations, including 280 office spaces, meeting rooms, restaurants, hotels and large event spaces. France’s largest co-working space, at 18,000 m², has launched well. And success exists, according to the founder. “More than 50% of the offices have been booked, this figure is higher than the target set. We are counting on 65% of office openings. We are already ahead,” said Tristan Colombet. Start-ups, freelancers, associations, SMEs, large groups: the profiles that have reserved their place in this futuristic ensemble are diverse. “Even the Jean-Perrin cancer center and the Digital League have confirmed the installation,” the founder assured.
On the employment side, the increase in strength is also the same. “The PIC team increased from 14 employees in January to 24 employees currently, with plans to open 70 positions,” explained management. About forty recruitments are still ongoing for reception, catering and hotel. “Work date events are very popular, all the sessions are full. We even added some! »
Eight catering venues found takers after a slower start. “We made a little mistake in the first formula,” admitted Tristan Colombet. We reviewed the model and it turned out the opposite: we had too many candidates. »
With the number of visitors reaching 2,240 people, compared to the planned 1,000 visitors, the project aroused enthusiasm and curiosity. “This is our biggest reward. Seeing people say “wow” when they come is proof that the bet is good,” said the founder, proudly keeping the calendar. The opening of the PIC is expected to occur in the second half of January 2026, before the official inauguration on May 5.
