Two police officers who were carrying out intelligence and investigative activities in the state of Jalisco last Tuesday have disappeared, the Federal Security Secretariat said in a statement on Wednesday. The agents were traveling in an official car headed to the city of Guadalajara, in the heart of the territory, when the authorities lost communications with them. The vehicle was located on Paseo de los Virreyes, located north of Zapopan, just 10 kilometers from the center of the capital Guadalajara.
The Security Secretariat did not provide further information on the case, nor the identity of the agents nor the location from which they departed. But the agency said it maintains permanent communication with authorities in Jalisco and is working with the Secretariat of Defense, the Navy and the Military Guard to locate the two missing police officers. “The families of the elements have the absolute support and support of this institution, which remains attentive to providing them with all the necessary support.”
