Frankfurt/Washington – The Jeffrey Epstein case has come back like a boomerang – and has now once again hit Deutsche Bank and JP Morgan with full force! On Wednesday, a US Congressional committee requested financial records from convicted sex offenders.
Chairman House Committee on Oversight and Government ReformJames Comer, issued subpoenas to both banks. In his letter to DB General Counsel Simone Kampfer (59), he explained: The committee is investigating whether the US government helped clarify the case. The Epstein affair failed – and for that you need every detail of Epstein’s money flow.
James Comer (53) wants to obtain Deutsche Bank financial documents
The fact is: Both financial giants once had influential billionaires as customers. Epstein was a customer of Deutsche Bank from 2013 to 2018 and was previously a customer of JP Morgan. This is very detrimental to both of them.
JP Morgan paid $290 million two years ago to settle a class action lawsuit filed by Epstein victims – plus an additional $75 million settlement in the US Virgin Islands. Deutsche Bank will also have to dig deeper into its pockets in 2023: $75 million to end victims’ lawsuits.
Deutsche Bank today stressed that it takes all obligations seriously and responds to “authorized investigations and processes appropriately.” The institution has stated several times that it regrets previous business relationships. They worked together, exposed errors and tightened internal controls.
Sex criminal Jeffrey Epstein (†66) two years before his death
Epstein had run an abuse ring for years and abused dozens of young women and minors. After being arrested again in 2019, he died – officially by suicide – in his prison cell at the age of 66. His death, his contacts, and his old people Party video to this day fuels speculation about powerful backers.
Now the problem is serious: the US Congress has paved the way for this Publication of investigation files released. Only Donald Trump’s (79) Signature missing. He does want to sign the agreement – but critics warn that exclusion for the Justice Ministry will once again only reveal the truth piecemeal.
