Erika Kirk, widow of murdered American far-right activist Charlie Kirkhas expressed support from the conservative youth organization Turning Point for the presidential election led by JD Vance. In one of her last conversations with her husband, she emphasized how much she wanted to support current Vice President Vance in a possible 2028 run, Erika Kirk told journalist Megyn Kelly in an interview. ABC and CNN quoted from the interview that Turning Point’s support for Vance in a possible 2028 presidential run was “in the works.”
Charlie Kirk has built Turning Point USA into the largest conservative youth organization in the country. Kirk supports Donald Trump in his election campaign and was an influential representative of the “Make America Great Again” (MAGA) movement. On September 10, the 31-year-old man was shot at an event at a university in the state of Utah.
Erika Kirk explained while hugging Vance
A photo of Erika Kirk and Vance’s intimate embrace on the open stage recently went viral on the Internet at the end of October. In an interview with Kelly, Erika Kirk explained that it was a very emotional moment for her because her husband’s video was shown: “I walked over, he came over to me. I started crying. He said he was so proud of me. And I said, ‘God bless you.’ And I touched the back of his head.” That’s how he is. If anyone wants to take that out of context, they should, Kirk said.
Vance has not taken concrete steps to run for president in 2028. In a recent interview with Fox News, he said he is currently focused on his role as vice president and the 2026 midterm elections. He would then sit down with President Trump to discuss the possibility of running.
