Severe storms have caused major flooding and landslides in northern Italy, especially in Brazzano di Cormons. Two people remain missing, while emergency services continue to work in a number of affected locations.

Brazzano di Cormons in the north of the country was worst hit. Landslides destroyed residential buildings there. Emergency services were able to rescue one person alive from the wreckage; he was taken to hospital in Udine with a broken leg.

About 200 emergency calls

Three buildings were completely buried under rubble and others were badly damaged. The Udine fire brigade continued to operate and recorded around 200 emergency calls during the night. In many other cities in Italy, many streets were under water.
