All the action is happening on Viroflay this Sunday afternoon. The entire neighborhood, near the city hall, was completely cordoned off to allow for police intervention.
They were called following reports of a man hiding in his home with his wife and son. He later said he was armed, specifically with grenades.
A large number of police officers from the department were called to the scene to form a large security cordon. Their colleagues from Raid were also contacted considering the potential threat. “We always take this very seriously. In this case, we are not taking any chances,” said a source close to the matter.
No weapons were found in the home
The special intervention unit ultimately did not need to intervene. While on his way to Viroflay, the man finally decided to leave his house. He was arrested without difficulty by the police officers present and placed in police custody. No weapons or grenades were found at his home.
The new device could be lifted at around 17.30. after two and a half hours of intervention. Based on initial information, the man was drunk. “His wife clearly wants to leave him and he can’t stand it,” says our source. Police plan to question him once he regains consciousness and his abilities.
