Vox does not want a written agreement with Juanfran Pérez Llorca, of the PP, because it believes that “it is of absolutely no use” and insists not to support his investiture until his speech on Thursday, arguing that it is a question of “exactly what position and commitments” the candidate for the presidency of the Generalitat Valenciana assumes with the citizens.

Pérez Llorca already expressed himself in this sense last week and so did the PP’s parliamentary spokesperson, Nando Pastor. Faced with the opposition’s accusation that the People’s Party has already reached a “shameful and shameful” agreement with the far right under which it has assumed its postulates on climate change and immigration – which is why, in his opinion, they have not made it public -, the PP spokesperson said that the best light and stenographer is that of Parliament and the debate on investitures. The plenary session to elect the new president The appointment is for next Thursday at 11 in the morning.

Abascal’s party had already warned that it would rush until the last moment to announce its support for Pérez Llorca, which is essential to be able to replace Carlos Mazón at the helm of the regional executive. The party wants to ensure that the PP fully respects its conditions, which materialize in the rejection of ecological policies, irregular immigration and the demand for the construction of dams and dams to avoid new tragedies like that of Dana.

Vox’s national spokesperson, José Antonio Fúster, indicated Monday that “what is needed is to listen” to the candidate, promising that Vox “will be very attentive” to his words and “they hope that everything goes well.” Fúster focused on building the infrastructure he believes is essential to ensure that the tragedy “does not happen again” and pledged Vox’s support if it is “crystal clear.”

Abascal’s party, however, refuses to sign an agreement with the People’s Party because it has “deceived them many times” and “is of absolutely no use”. “We have learned first-hand that it is a dead letter, we want to see, even if we already have an impression, what he will say to the Valencians, which is why we are waiting for his investiture speech”, explained the national spokesperson, who warned him against “going back” or “giving bipartisan positions”. In that case, as he said, Vox would vote no.

“The wink” from Pérez Llorca to his partners

Sources around Pérez Llorca assure that he is very calm, is preparing his speech and that it is not his style to sign any written agreement, although “there will undoubtedly be nods” to the requests of his parliamentary partners. They assure that there is no unsustainable demand and that there is “no evidence” of insurmountable obstacles.

Pérez Llorca will have unlimited time in Thursday’s investiture session. The four parliamentary groups will have half an hour each for their turn to speak and then 10 minutes each to respond to the candidate, which may be extended by a further 30 minutes in total to respond to the groups.
