“We speak because we know that silence is deadly,” said his brother, Amine

“Why did they kill him? he was 20 years old…”: in Marseille, residents oscillate between emotion and incomprehension, hours before the meeting

A 71-year-old environmental activist, Marc Gastaldello came from Vaucluse, where he lives, to participate in the rally organized in Marseille by Amine Kessaci, this Saturday, at 15.00, to pay tribute to his younger brother Mehdi, who was murdered in Marseille on November 13.

Amine Kessaci has been involved in fighting drug trafficking for several years, especially through his association Conscience, which helps families of victims of narchomicide.

“Amine was a community activist like me. I started to fear her. She was very brave but she overcame terrible forces. I knew her. The death of her younger brother broke her »said Marc Gastaldello. “But we can’t go on like this. Have you seen these cities ravaged by drugs? What must be done to drain this money from the cause of everything?”asked the activist.

A few streets later, a man who knew “little Mehdi,” as he called him, agreed to testify, without giving his identity. “He was my neighbor. I would love to have a son like him. Very respectful, kind, he didn’t stay outside with young people. He parked his car and went straight home. Why did they kill him? He was 20 years old… Enough, enough…”

Of course, he would go to the rally, at 3pm, in front of the roundabout where Mehdi was killed. A new wreath was laid at the scene.
