And there are various ideas that are being studied by the presidium in consultation with local politicians.

Will Bremen soon have a Willi Lemke Square?

Hess-Grunewald: “It could be the boule pitch at the Weserstadion or the new functional building at number 11 or the football campus that is to be built. But you could also name a box or several boxes after him. He brought them to Bremen. They are closely connected to him.”

“invented” in 1991 Lemke VIP boxes make Werder the first club in the Republic with a more comfortable stadium experience.

How Lemke will be honored will likely be decided in the next few months. Hess-Grunewald: “We are facing this question. Willi Lemke has not been forgotten!”
