This Monday, December 1, the famous Moroccan singer Saad Lamjarred met again with the law. Admired in her country, the 40-year-old artist had to appear before the Var Assize Court for aggravated rape. He denied the facts that allegedly occurred in August 2018 in Saint-Tropez.
But the previous case made headlines. In February 2023, Saad Lamjarred was sentenced to six years in prison by the Paris Assize Court for aggravated rape, a charge he always vehemently denied – after a brief imprisonment, he was released in April 2023. His appeal hearing, which was supposed to start on 2 June in Créteil (Val-de-Marne), was postponed. The reason for this delay was never revealed.
