It was not a voluntary act, but a fallout caused by a push at the height of a heated debate. Currently, these are the leads investigators are following in the death of Leonardo Fiorini, a 27-year-old man who fell from the third floor of a B&B in via San Calepodio, in the Monteverde district. The incident occurred on Thursday evening shortly after 11 p.m., when several residents, shocked by screams coming from the apartment, called 112. Carabinieri from the Compagnia San Pietro and specialists from the Investigation Unit arrived at the scene.
Investigators arrested a 25-year-old man who was in the same room as the victim on suspicion of murder. The man, David Stojanovic, who is under house arrest, will undergo toxicology tests ordered by the Rome Prosecutor’s Office. Analysis will also be carried out on the bodies of victims who were civil servants of a ministry. In the room, soldiers found narcotic substances, including marijuana. During interrogation, Stojanovic denied his romantic relationship with Fiorini and claimed that he tried to dissuade his friend, while according to his version, he tried to throw himself from the balcony.
A reconstruction was questioned by witnesses, who instead claimed that the 25-year-old attempted to intervene only after seeing people looking out the windows and talking about “angry screams”. This behavior makes researchers suspicious and helps strengthen the degenerate argument hypothesis.
The two young men come from Isola del Liri, in the province of Frosinone. This 25 year old man works as a clerk in a shop in the capital. Neither of his respective girlfriends was present at the time of the incident. When police arrived, they found the 25-year-old man in an obviously altered state, possibly due to substances or drugs. Residents said they heard an argument moments before the tragedy occurred.
Based on initial reconstructions, the argument continued on the balcony, where the two pushed each other until the 27-year-old man found half-naked in the yard fell. The reasons for the dispute remain unclear. Meanwhile, the body of the 27-year-old man has been moved to the Verano morgue.
