As the defending world champion, France is once again one of the favorite countries this year. Norway, as defending European champions and Olympic champions, is also the favorite to win the title. Apart from that, Denmark and Sweden were also among the medal winners. It’s hard to imagine the title not going to Scandinavia or France.
What chance does Germany have?
The first qualifier for the 2024 Olympics in Paris – the first since 2008 – marked an important success for the German team and raised hopes of a home appearance at the World Cup.
In the preliminary round of group C and the next main round which brings together teams from group D (Spain, Montenegro, Faroe Islands, Paraguay), the chances of being selected as national coach Gaugisch are quite good.
However, if there is any possibility of progressing to the quarter-finals, it may take a very strong performance to actually reach the top four.
