“Where did their money go? », “I don’t know what to do”, “it’s impossible to close the account”… In recent days, testimonials from customers of Kard, the money app aimed at teenagers, have flooded social networks.
Many parents who like the solution of giving pocket money to their children don’t know what to do after learning about the company’s liquidation, especially in the Libération column last Friday.
The Évreux court decided to place Kard in compulsory liquidation last September, without customers’ knowledge. Therefore, many parents continue to make transfers to their children: “I topped up my child’s account with 25 euros. Where is the money? Of course not in his account, let alone mine. Nobody answers…”, complained one father on Facebook. “The children’s accounts are zero, where is the money?” asked a mother.
Another pointed out that customer service was “unreachable” and not “responsive,” despite “many emails being sent.” “You took my teenager’s money, more than 500 euros, and we can’t contact you,” said the distraught parent.
Many people wonder about how to get back the money invested. But there is still hope: Kard uses a service provider, Okali, a subsidiary of the Crédit Agricole group. “All funds are protected by Okali,” Crédit Agricole assured AFP.
Therefore, the money paid for the application is not lost with the judicial liquidation of Kard. The Crédit Agricole subsidiary invited Kard customers to contact it via the email address published on its website to get their money back.
