Transgender athletes should no longer be allowed to compete in women’s competitions at the Olympics. This step is intended to ensure fair performance and is based on scientific studies that show this IOC as originally reported by the British newspaper “The Times”.
The results of the study were not surprising: Men who had undergone gender reassignment surgery and participated in women’s sports had a physical advantage and interfered with competition.
As further reported by the newspaper, the decision will also impact female athletes who suffer from DSD (disorder of sexual development).

The next Winter Olympics will take place in February 2026 in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo (Italy) instead. Los Angeles (USA) will host the Summer Olympics in 2028.
