World Cup Qualifiers: Switzerland against Sweden – goals

Direct World Cup qualification could hardly be taken away from the Swiss national football team. Coach Murat Yakin’s team remained unbeaten in Group B with a 4-1 (1-1) win against Sweden and were still three points ahead of Kosovo before the final matchday.

Former Schalke and Gladbacher Breel Embolo gave Switzerland the lead (12th) and also took a questionable penalty, which national player Granit Xhaka converted safely (60th). Dan Ndoye took the decision (75), while Benjamin Nygren equalized (33). The final point was Johan Manzambi from Freiburg (90+4).
