The Société Éditatrice du Monde would like to present in its publications a selection of testimonies, in the form of writings, photographs and videos (hereinafter referred to collectively and separately as “Contributions”) freely submitted by Internet users.
Contribution Contents
Your contributions must comply with the laws currently in force, in particular the law of 29 July 1881 concerning freedom of the press, articles 9 and 9-1 of the Civil Code concerning the right to privacy and respect for the presumption of innocence as well as provisions in intellectual property law. Contributions that are contrary to the law may not be published.
Careful spelling and formatting is required (no capitalized text, no abbreviations or “SMS” type writing).
You must be the author of the text, photos, and videos you offer as part of your Contribution, or have permission from their author to publish them under the terms specified herein. The author’s name should always be mentioned, as well as the date and place where your photo or video document was taken, and write a descriptive caption.
Your contribution must be signed with your first and last name. Requests for anonymity if published will be reviewed by the Société Éditrice du Monde editorial staff on a case-by-case basis.
The publishing company Le Monde reserves the right to reject any Contribution, or to remove any previously published Contribution, for any reason, in particular if:
- contrary to the law (racism, calls to violence or hatred, defamation, pornography, pedophilia, sexism, homophobia, etc.).
- this is against the rules of conduct of Monde.fr and other related publications (bad spelling, comments not appropriate to the requested subject, sloppy form, etc.).
- the subject or form is of little interest to readers, the Society which publishes Le Monde is the sole decision maker in this matter.
- it has been proposed and published or is similar to recently published testimony.
- contains the representation or designation of an identifiable person, in particular a minor.
- it contains representations of a work that may be subject to third party copyright without the third party’s permission.
- contains photos or videos of insufficient technical quality (blurry photos, videos with unreadable or poor definition, inaudible soundtrack, etc.), and the Sociétépublisher du Monde is the sole decision maker in this matter.
Rules applicable to Contributions
By participating in this testimonial call, you consent to the total or partial publication of your Contributions on the Le Monde.fr site, in the daily newspaper Le Monde, in M le Magazine du Monde and/or in any other publication or site where the publishing company Le Monde publishes editorial content (Facebook, Twitter, Digiteka, Instagram, etc., throughout the world, during the period of operation of the publication in question.
The publishing company Le Monde is free to publish or not the Contributions submitted to it.
Your responses to testimonial calls, as well as your authorization for possible exploitation of your Contributions, are provided free of charge and shall not constitute compensation or gratification or payment of any kind, for any reason.
The information collected in the questionnaire is recorded in a computerized file by the Société Éditatrice du Monde, and communicated only to the journalist from whom the testimony was called and to the technical team responsible for managing its processing.
These statements will only be used within the framework of this call for testimony. Data relating to Contributions is retained for a maximum period of two years. You can access data about you, correct it, request its deletion or exercise your right to restrict the processing of your data, withdraw your consent to the processing of your data at any time.
